A student project where I wrote, storyboarded, animated, and edited a short animation within a 3-month timespan.

Pre-Production
Critical Path and Calendar

I used draw.io to plan out what I could realistically complete within the 3-month time. Using this, I concluded that I would be able to complete the rough animations by the deadline.

After this, I created a calendar to schedule what phase of the project I would work on each day until the deadline. I would update it if a task needed to be delayed or cancelled.
Scene Rough Plan
Here, I created a Word document summarizing the overall story and what would happen in each scene of the animation.
Concept Art

I drew multiple sketches of what I wanted specific scenes, props, and characters to look like.
Animation Frame Plans
Using an Excel spreadsheet, I planned out how many frames of animation each shot would require.
Character Turnarounds

I drew each character in front, side, and back angles to use as reference during the animation stage of production.
Production
Story Boards and Animatic

Using the Studio Binder storyboard document, I drew sketches for every shot in the animation. I included movement lines for the characters (blue arrows) and the camera (red arrows), as well as short scene descriptions.

Using the Adobe After Effects program, I compiled each storyboard into a single video with the correct frame times (see Animation Frame Plans.)
Keyframe Animation

Using the animation tools in Krita, I drew the main poses of each character movement with timing charts to plan when each drawing will appear. I also used onion skins to see the previous and next frames.
Post-Production

After animation, I edited every sequence together using Adobe After Effects. I then uploaded the finished video to YouTube.
